Lapline is a compact 3D racing game built around the pressure of a time trial rather than wheel-to-wheel contact. The car accelerates by itself, leaving you to manage the steering and the speed you carry into each bend. A late, sharp turn can make the tyres slide, while a smoother early line protects momentum. That gives each short circuit a clear question: can you find a cleaner route than the clock, or than your previous attempt?

Ghosts, medals and unlocks

The game presents 15 circuits across five worlds and tracks progress with 45 medals. Bronze, silver and gold ghost cars provide stepped targets on every course; after those, your own best lap becomes the next rival. Coins add a longer-term reason to revisit completed routes, supporting unlocks for cars and paint options. The developer's page describes courses through settings including a sunny coast, a red canyon and pine woods, giving the time trials some visual variety without changing their central focus.

Lapline is intentionally light on controls. On a computer, A/D or the left and right arrow keys steer. P or Escape pauses, and R restarts.
