On this page

Loot Hole is a first-person digging adventure about excavating a backyard, hauling finds to a stall, upgrading tools and equipment, and working through tougher underground layers toward 1000 metres.

Loot Hole

Loot Hole turns an ordinary front yard into a long-term excavation project. You aim at the ground, dig through the layer beneath you, and collect the objects that surface. The loop is deliberately physical: your backpack limits how much you can carry, so a successful trip is not finished when you uncover something valuable. You need to bring the haul back to the surface and sell it at the yard stall before investing the proceeds in the next descent.

Equip yourself for harder layers

Your destination is 1000 metres below the yard, through successive layers that become harder to break. Better shovels, pickaxes, and drills provide the basic answer, while a larger backpack reduces the number of trips needed. Jetpacks and explosives add other ways to move or clear obstacles as your equipment improves. A hidden landmark closes each layer and guarantees a rare find, giving a concrete reason to push past the easy material instead of returning as soon as the bag contains ordinary loot.

There are collection and request systems alongside the digging. A book records discoveries, and a board can ask for particular items. Those requests make inventory decisions more interesting: an object may be worth keeping for a neighbour rather than selling it immediately. The combination of selling, upgrading, collecting, and deeper layers gives the game an incremental rhythm without requiring a combat objective.

The official controls support keyboard and touch play. On desktop, WASD moves, the mouse controls the view, and holding the left mouse button digs at the aimed spot. Space jumps or operates a jetpack; H returns you to the surface; B or I opens the backpack; C opens the collection book; X throws an explosive; and Q changes explosive type. Phones and tablets use an on-screen stick and buttons. Playgama lists PC, Android, and iOS support, with both landscape and portrait orientations.

Loot Hole was created by Yilmaz Kiymaz. For a steady start, make short trips, keep an eye on your bag capacity and upgrade the tool that is holding back your progress. Selling more ordinary finds can be more useful than spending a long time chipping at a layer your current shovel cannot handle efficiently.

How to Play Loot Hole

  1. Aim at the ground and hold the left mouse button, or touch and hold, to dig through the layer below you.
  2. Walk close to uncovered objects so they are collected into the backpack automatically.
  3. When the backpack is full, use H to surface and walk to the yard stall to sell the haul.
  4. Spend coins on stronger digging tools, a larger backpack, a jetpack, or explosives as the rock becomes harder.
  5. Check neighbour requests, complete each layer's landmark search, and use the collection book while working toward 1000 m.
