Shop Boss: Business Quest is a 20-mission shop management game: choose your stock, price it, lay out the shelves and serve shoppers while learning how supply and demand actually move a till.
Shop Boss: Business Quest hands you a small, empty store and asks a question most management games skip: do you actually understand why the till was full yesterday? You choose the products, decide how the shelves are arranged, set the prices and then open the doors — and whatever happens next is a consequence of those choices rather than a scripted cutscene.
The preparation phase is where the business decisions happen. Pick a range of goods, put the shelving where it makes sense, settle on a pricing style, and give one product the shop-window slot so it is the first thing anyone sees. Then the day starts and you are on your feet: a queue forms, shelves empty, and shoppers want help finding things. A sale only happens if the shopper gets what they came for, which ties the back-room planning directly to the till.
Sahoo Studios built the game as a teaching tool, and it shows in the feedback. Shoppers walk out when prices are too high; empty shelves cost you sales. The developer's own summary of the skills involved is pricing, supply and demand, stock planning and profit, pitched at roughly ages 7 to 12 — so the maths is the game, not a quiz bolted onto the end of a level.
The campaign runs 20 missions across four chapters, each adding a business idea to the ones before it. Free Shop mode drops the mission brief and lets you run the store however you like. In between sits Try One Change, the most interesting of the three: it replays an identical group of shoppers with exactly one decision altered, which turns a fuzzy "that went badly" into a clean comparison.
Progress is not just a score. The developer lists stars, badges and unlocked chapters, plus cosmetic extras such as counter styles and shop decorations, so a well-run shop also means a shop that looks the way you want it to.
Everything is done by pointing and clicking, or tapping on a phone or tablet — Y8 tags the game for mobile and touchscreen and lists no keyboard bindings. That makes it comfortable on a laptop trackpad, an iPad, or a phone in portrait. It is also available in Chinese on Y8 alongside the English listing.
It is a shop management game with a light economics lesson inside it. You run a small store: choose the range, arrange the shelves, set prices, serve customers and keep stock on the shelves.
Sahoo Studios developed it. Their site describes the studio's output as math and economics games for children, where the arithmetic is the gameplay rather than a quiz between levels.
The developer states that the game practises pricing, supply and demand, stock planning and profit, and rates it for ages 7 to 12. The teaching is embedded in the shop loop: prices that are too high send shoppers away, and empty shelves lose sales.
Twenty missions split across four chapters, according to Y8, with the developer listing 20 levels. Beyond the campaign there is a Free Shop mode for unrestricted experimentation.
It is a replay tool: the game runs the same set of shoppers again with one decision changed, so you can compare outcomes without the noise of a different day or a different crowd.
Pointing and clicking, or tapping on a touch device. Y8 tags the game for mobile and touchscreen and lists no keyboard controls, and the whole interface is made of shop panels and buttons.
Yes, it runs in a mobile browser as well as on desktop and needs no download. A Chinese-language version of the listing is also published on Y8.
